1) After studying policing at UHCL, imagine that a local city council board has asked you to provide information about the issue of police misconduct or corruption. Please discuss at least three (3) key aspects of police misconduct or corruption that will provide the local community with a thorough understanding of this topic. Some aspects that can be discussed include, but are not limited to: defining police corruption or misconduct; types of police corruption or misconduct; levels or pervasiveness of police corruption or misconduct; theories about why police corruption or misconduct occurs; and strategies to control police corruption or misconduct. Please discuss why police accountability is needed, and please discuss at least three (3) different approaches or mechanisms of police accountability that should be implemented within the local police department and/or outside the police department.
