Given what you have read, when considering the shifting of gender roles, what influence does a therapist’s own construction of gender roles have upon how he or she relates to clients? As you consider your response and engage in dialogue with each other this week surrounding this topic, reflect on how your own bias related to this topic could influence the choices you make in how you conduct therapy with clients around topics of role definitions in a couple or family therapy context. What will you do to ensure your bias doesn’t become the driving force in the therapy you provide?
