Paper title: voting rights
the portion I am working on:
What does it mean to have voter access? Why are restrictions like voter-ID laws discriminatory? What have been/may be some of the tactics used by states to restrict voting if this bill doesn’t pass, and what could be the outcome?
notes:
Liberal – everyone should have access to voting
Conservative – everyone should have trust in the system, so if a few citizens don’t end up voting it’s okay in the end (cost of integrity in the election)
Voter ID – 80% of Americans support
Counterpoint: extreme cost, no data to back up
