Topic
This speech is sometimes called a ceremonial speech. You should attempt to keep your
speech positive and have some humor (if possible). Even in eulogies, in which the
speech might be sad, it is still possible to stay positive (e.g., speaking good of the person
who is deceased). Choose one of the following types of epideictic speeches to craft your
speech around:
1. Tribute
2. Nominate
3. Farewell
4. Entertain
5. Award Acceptance
6. Toast
7. Eulogy (cannot be about someone you personally know)
