Learning objectives: 1. Create and apply a moral reading of the Qur’an. 2. Identify the symbols and rituals of the hajj and apply to your experience of pilgrimage. Blog (a) After reading Approaching the Qur’an (see “Reading” above), apply a moral reading of Surah 82 to your own life. (b) After viewing Inside Mecca (see “Video” above) think about whether you ever been on a pilgrimage. A pilgrimage can be a family trip or a personal journey of discovery. Explain the symbols and rituals of the hajj and their meaning to Muslims and apply to your own experience of pilgrimage. Primary sources: Approaching the Qur’an (Sells, page no.) and Inside Mecca (time stamp). Always include in-text citations to support your work and a reference list at the end. 400 word minimum.
